Got the Blue Slip, the CTP arrived in the mail so got it REGISTERED!

Went for Blue Slip and needed 2 more small jobs done:
1. Tyre placard to match the wheels / tyres fitted (or else they would be illegal)
2. An engraved plate riveted over the Jap (11 digit) VIN to match the Australian VIN issed (17 digits).

Got the Engineers Certificate so the car is now registerable on Australian Roads. DMRH came with me to help smooth the way.
Next Blue Slip and Weighbridge Certificate. Am waiting for the CTP Insurance in the mail.
Replaced steering wheel. Continuing with the leather treatment.

DMRH got me the steering wheel. Fair dinkum, if there's something he doesn't know or can't do with these cars, I certainly haven't found it! Dave is a real asset and I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

Have an appointment with the Enginner this Saturday. All jobs are done except the necessary stickers (tyre pressure, Unleaded fuel) which will be done on the way to the Engineers with Dave.
Have started on recolouring the interior leather. Quite difficult.
Installed remote boot opener.

All the jobs I know of are completed for compliancing.
The box of spares I purchased from Queensland turned up today, complete with a set of turbos. Will look to getting these installed ASAP after getting the Engineers Certificate.

Dave (DMRH) came around yesterday with Darren for the seatbelt fitment. All went well and the install was finished and the car put back together today.
Dave gave me a list of the rest of the work required for compliancing which I have started on. Dave is very focussed on "quality" of work and materials which sits well with what I want, and reflects well on DMRH.
Also replaced the rear speakers.

Radiator flushed. Continuing to clean. Have polished / cleaned inside door jams and boot.
Picking up materials to finish the leather treatment next Wednesday.

Carpet recleaned. Its as good as I need to get it at this stage.
Trimmed up and cleaned the "Cosmo" floor rugs. These too came up pretty well.

Alarm / remote central locking completed. Removed all the "beat sonic" amps and controllers.
First pass on the carpet. Its gonna come up ok.Well, already has. It looked like a flask of coffee was poured over the passenger / rear floor. Coming up ok. Will continue to clean over the next days.

Have completed the first couple of stages of the leather treatment. Applied a couple of applications (3 where necessary) of the "Rejuvenating Oil" and washed down with the "Pristine Clean". All the leather is now remarkably clean and supple. 95% of it is now in very good condition and I need to take the vehicle to the leather people to colour match so I can repair / recolour a couple of worn patches. This will need to wait until the vehicle is on the road.
Remote central locking operational and the security system 90% completed.

Time for an update.
Have replaced almost all of the vacuum hoses, a very long and difficult task. Am awaiting a check valve that I'll have tomorrow so that task will be completed. Found 2 points where leaks were likely.
Purchased a 2nd hand stock intercooler that will be installed after the turbos are replaced. Tempting to install and removed grille, etc so know how to replace. I was offered an aftermarket one with a bigger capacity and cooling benefits for $1,700 but the stock one will do for now.
Received and have started using some "rejuvenating oil" and "pristine clean" products on the interior leather. I need to wait until I can take the car to them to colour match for the finishing touches.
Have received alarm / immobiliser / remote locking / start. Will install as time permits.

Making some inroads into compliance at a reasonable price.
Installed a fuel tank fuel restrictor that I bought from the wreckers ($15 with unsuitable pipework but adapted as necessary). Already installed the 3rd (high level) brake light. Still continuing every day to achieve something.

Brakes rotors removed, machined, new brake pads @ 73,488 km (supplier recommended by DMRH).
Continuing with cleaning, small repairs, etc.

Oil change carried out at 73,476 km.

Dave Morris from DMRH came over, unflooded the engine, replaced the plugs and got it going.
Dave is an absolute genius with these cars and I couldn't recommend him highly enough. The in-depth knowledge he has, both technically and operationally makes him, without doubt, the leading authority on everything "Cosmo".
Dave advises "compliancing", turbo replacement, can begin in about a week and a half.

Paintwork in poor condition. Cleaning started with first use of "clay bar", significant improvement (will continue daily). Removed all stickers, etc, wipe down, clean, vacuum inside.
Installed new battery.

Cosmo arrived from Melbourne.
Big thanks to Izzy and Margaret for towing it up; and Mick, Rey, Dean, Eddie and his mates for helping getting it up our driveway and into the garage.

Mechanic advises there may be a fuel supply fault. It is agreed to transport the vehicle to Sydney in existing condition for repair.

Paid for the Cosmo and to be delivered to the transporter for delivery to Sydney.
Dealer advises it won't run and is flooded. Dealership can't get started so taking it to mechanic.
